You’d think after three previous trips to Maui that we’d pretty much have seen just about everything there was to see. Well, all the new sights and experiences we saw in those two weeks last February proved that totally wrong. We made it up to the top of Haleakala for the sunrise (finally), we added two more whale watches and some great shots to our collection, drove to Hana ourselves for the first time and stayed overnight, and met up with our new Twitter friends. And that’s only the half of it.

Sights and Tours

This trip was the perfect blend of new things that we've been waiting to do forever and some of our old favorites. Ah, the benefits of a full two weeks on the island of Maui.

Just like our previous trip, we indugled in a full day of beach hopping in South Maui. Plus, since we made the drive to Hana ourselves for the first time, we were on our own schedule for enjoying a few beaches on the East Coast.

  • Ka'anapali Beach
  • Hamoa Beach
  • Koki Beach (Red Sand Beach)
  • Kame'ole Beach II
  • Ulua Beach
  • Wailea Beach
  • Keawakapu Beach
  • Hookipa Beach
  • Napili Beach

After hitting up our favorite spots, it was time to try a few local favorites thanks to my Maui friends on Twitter.

What's a trip to Maui without a little (or a lot of) shopping. Even with all the murmurs about the economy, there were still plenty of activity that we saw in the shops along Front Street.
