Overview
In addition to reliving the history and heritage of historic Lahaina, there are many great stores and merchants that offer everything from aloha wear and jewelery to souveniers and art galleries. In fact, there probably isn't much you can on the island that you can't also find in Lahaina as well (from a shopping and dining point of view).
There are actually a few different areas in Lahaina Town that offer different shopping experiences. These areas also help make up the variety of offerings you can find in such a small area, essentially all in walking distances from start to finish. Those areas are broken down for you below.
Front Street
Front Street is the most well known and most popular shopping area in Lahaina Town. It stretches from about Papalaua St. on the north and goes all the way passed the Banyan Tree and down to Prison St. Just that stretch of three or four blocks alone offers a few dozen shopping and dining options on both ends of the street.
This strip of shopping real estate has just about everything that there is in Lahaina. You'll find dining options such as Cheeseburger in Paradise, Kimo's, BJ's Pizzeria, and about dozen others. There are also a few different ABC Stores, a Haagan Dazs, and a few Na Hoku locations, too.
Lahaina Center
At the northern most end of Front Street is a group of stores that make up the Lahaina Center. It has a decent sized parking lot, and features a large Hilo Hattie location, the "Store of Hawai'i" as their tagline states. Cindy's made more than a few visits to the clothing store Wet Seal, and I'll hit up Cold Stone Creamery next store. The popular restaurant chain Hard Rock Cafe is also located in the Lahaina Center. It features some nice views of the water, although we rarely see it overflowing with patrons.
Warren and Annebelle's Magic! show is also located here, although we have yet to see it.
Old Lahaina Center
Just next to the Lahaina Center is the Old Lahaina Center, which is operated by the same management as the former. It's a little smaller than the Lahaina Center, but it has a lot of cheaper eats all in one area, which is good on the go. They have the only Starbucks within walking distance of Front Street, as well as Quizno's if you're craving a hot sandwich and a Jamba Juice (my new favorite this past summer).
The Old Lahaina Center is also home to the Lahaina Post Office and the Maui Theater, which features the very popular ULALENA production. Throw in Longhi's and Bubba Gump's as options for dinner, and it's a worth a look.
The Wharf Cinema Center
The Wharf Cinema Center isn't as popular as the other areas, but if you have time to kill before your boat tour out of Lahaina Harbor, go ahead and check it out. They have about 50 stores all squeezed together, and it's directly across the street from the Lahaina Banyan Tree, so you're not really going out of your way.
