Monday Summary
By Monday of our second week, we'd pretty much wrapped up everything we had planned, with the exception of the luau on Wednesday. Cindy had her day at the spa, we did a little shopping and tried out Kimo's for the first time as our dinner choice.
Cindy's first visit at the Westin Spa was last year and she absolutely loved it. So, for this go around, she tried a few new items from their menu and spent an extra hour being pampered. As with last year, nothing but good things.
While she was doing her thing, my mom and grabbed a quick bite at Johnny's Burger Joint just off of Hwy 30. The food was good, but the place wasn't exactly one that you'd take your mom (so now I know). Better it be 12pm in the afternoon than 9pm at night, that's for sure.
After that, we headed back to the hotel. I was still fussing with the whale video from Saturday, and just about gave up at this point. After working on a little homework and listening to the hockey game online, we switched over to watch our hometown Cubs beat up on the Mets, which was nice.
We were looking for something new for dinner, since we never like to visit the same place twice during one trip (although it has happened). We looked up Kimo's, and even though we're not seafood fans, we gave their chicken and steak a shot and it was a nice meal. Afterwards, it was a little bit more window shopping while in town, and then back to the hotel.
Itinerary - Monday, April 21st

Monday Timeline
11:03 AM HST
Trying hard to do my homework like a good student.
How lucky was I to actually have homework on vacation, and it being a photography class, being in such a photo-friendly location.
11:18 AM HST
Finished blogging, now getting ready to drop Cindy off at the spa
We were headed out for lunch and shopping, so mom and I dropped Cindy off at Whalers next to the Westin.
12:26 PM HST
Back from Jonny's Burger Joint, not a bad little place.
As I mentioned above, the food was good and the prices were even better. The atmosphere wasn't exactly what you'd expect for a resort area, but I guess all types of people vacation on Maui.
12:41 PM HST
Installing Premiere Elements 4.0 that came with my Dell, hopefully to help with my video encoding adventures. Yay, more software to learn.
I brought this disc along thinking I might need it, and after reading some of the features online how it has automatic publishing capabilties to YouTube, I tried it out. Unfortunately, there was an issue with signing into YouTube because I have a Google Account and not a YouTube Account (and it's not smart enough to tell them apart). The online support forum for Adobe wasn't much help either, so I gave up.
I did, however, later on try creating a separate YouTube account to make it work. The downside was (aside from having videos in two places) that it gave me the same quality as I was getting earlier. Psshhhhh...
1:39 PM HST
Listening to the PHI/WAS game on NHL Game Radio. Working on homework, too.
We were both cheering for Philadelphia, altough they ended up losing. Had totaly forgotten about NHL Game Radio online, otherwise we would have been listening to games the week before, too.
2:25 PM HST
Giving up on YouTube for now. Blogging with what I have uploaded so far.
This is about the time I had issues with logging into YouTube from Premiere Elements. Oh well.
3:48 PM HST
Switching from hockey to baseball, courtesy of ESPN. Cubs just went ahead 7-1 over the Mets. Thinking about Kimo's for dinner
With hockey over, our Cubs were one ESPN against the Mets. It was a tight game when we turned it on, until the Cubbies blew open the game and pretty much sealed victory. It's good so see them winning this year (and staying healthy).
4:29 PM HST
Heading out to Lahaina
Kimo's is was, so with dinner picked, we were on our way.
5:57 PM HST
Done with dinner, going shopping
Kimo's was a nice place, and we'd go back next year. There was plenty of seating and room for large groups, and the menu had a good mix of seafood, steak and chicken. We didn't try any of the drinks this time or having their Hula Pie, so we have a reason to go back. :)
7:13 PM HST
Back in our room.
An early night compared to others on our trip. I think Cindy and mom just wanted to get back and watch Dancing with the Stars.
