Ka'anapali Dreamin' - Sharing the Magic of Maui

As we gear up for another snowy and cold winter here in Chicago, our eyes and minds are set on our upcoming trip to Maui in February. We're hoping to have our trip booked soon, and you can read posts from our blog about the exciting things we're looking forward to do on our upcoming trip.

So be sure to stay tuned and subscribe to the blog feed if you haven't already. As I did last year, I plan to provide live updates from our trip through my Maui Twitter page. Or, if you're already on Twitter yourself, you can follow me and stay informed that way. New in the Reviews section is a list of Websites and Blogs that we think are worth sharing. Be sure to have a look, and if you have a blog you think we should check out, share it with us here.

Now you can find our new Maui Island Guide map in our Activities section. It offers a nice visual of some of the hot spots on the island of Maui, and offers an individual look into each location with additional area maps.

The area maps feature info on different beaches, restaurants, and sights in the general vacinity, each that we've visited ourselves in the past few years. We're also looking to add more details on each activity on the area maps, including links to photo galleries, videos, blog posts and external websites to help you find more information. Updates from Trip 3 - April 2008
After our third trip to Maui, we updated our Beaches section with new beaches we visited. That brings the total number of beaches from Maui featured here on our site up to nine. More details here.

We have also added our Trip 3 Itineraries in the Our Trips section. These are our most comprehensive details of any of our trips to date, with everything from detailed summaries of each day to timelines and photos of the day's activity. Be sure to take a look at tell us what you think.

More Trip 3 Details are now available, too. Find a list of all the sights, tours, beaches, restaurants and shopping from Trip 3, including links to the journal entries and itineraries from the trip as well.

Last, but not least, you can read from our blog posts we made during our trip. They're listed under our '08 Trip Journal.

Ka'anapali Dreamin' is a site devoted to sharing the beauty and magic of Maui. With a combination of daily content, helpful reviews and a large collection of photographs, we hope you find this website as welcoming as a fresh, fragrant flower lei after stepping off the airplane.

"Maui No Ka 'Oi", as people in Maui say, and it means "Maui is the Best." In fact, if each of the Hawaiian Islands had their own official motto, that would be the one Maui would use. There is so much beauty, history, and culture that's part of Maui that it has much to offer and many reasons to return time and time again.

So we welcome you to take a look around our site and hopefully you like what you see. If you're looking for something regarding Maui, we hope we have what you need. If you're a regular Maui visitor or a true fan like ourselves, we hope that this site brings back all your own good memories of being on the white sandy beaches of Hawaii. And if you don't find what you are looking for, tell us.

Everything in this section is updated every day, including the Hawaiian word of the day, Today's Photos, weather, local news and more. You'll also find a few fun games like our How Far to Maui? and Is it Maui? pages. We hope you make it part of your daily online routine.

Activities
Find out more about what to do on the island in our Activities section. Check out maps (coming soon) as well as notes on many of the beaches, sights and tours, shopping, and restaurants. Read our reviews on a range of Hawaiian books and music, as well as a few of the magazines we subscribe to for when we're back on the mainland. Coming soon, we'll also feature different blogs and websites that we recommend and visit frequently ourselves.

Our Trips
Since this site is based on our own experiences while visiting Maui, this section is where we showcase the details of our trips, including itineraries, photo galleries and videos. We also keep this section updated with our plans for future trips, for which we target at least one trip every year.

Our blog, powered by Blogger, is updated as often as possible with info on new features to our site, featured photos, news and reviews of all things Maui from across the web, and much more. We value your comments, opinions and experiences, so please share them with us here.

Still More to Come...

There is so much we enjoy about the island of Maui, it's hard to fit it all into one website and sometimes almost in possible to put into mere words. To that point, we continuously work towards improving and expanding our website on a daily and weekly basis, so we hope that you will make it part of your browsing routine and visit back often.

After all, a little bit of Maui in your everyday life wouldn't be such a terrible thing, now would it?

As mentioned at the blog, my new online photo store Maui Wall Candy is now live. There are still a ton of photos to add, but it's a labour of love.

I've been posting photos all over this site that will soon be available at MWC.
