Cascading Waterfalls

Maui Christmas Everyone!

It’s hard to believe there’s only a week left in ‘09 already. Cindy and I would like to wish everyone a very happy holiday and a happy and healthy new year ahead.

Island Christmas Posts

While we have yet to celebrate Christmas and New Years on the Valley Isle, it is still near the top of our list. Until then, I wanted to share some holiday posts from a few of my favorite Hawaii bloggers.

I could list dozens of reasons why it would be so cool to spend the holidays on Maui someday. Rather than ramble on about that, I’ll just throw one out there. The Whales!

Wishing everyone peace and love,
 - Kris and Cindy

As the sun sets on another year, we wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year, or as they say in Hawaii, Hau’oli Makahiki Hou!!!

Maui Sunset

This past year was the first full year for our site here at Ka’anapali Dreamin’, and I’d have to say it’s been a pretty good one. There have been so many updates made to the site in the past 12 months, and the activity on our blog has really picked up more and more in the last few weeks. Mahalo to all of our readers and those that took the time to leave your comments for us.

Here’s to talking story with you in 2009.

Mahalo nui loa,

Site Update: New Site/Blog Integration

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

To help encourage more user involvement and feedback here at our site, I’ve added some additional integration between our blog and the pages from our website. Now, if a page on our website has a related blog post associated with it, you’ll see the following icon at the bottom of the page:

Blog Section Icon

That’s not all. We’ve also included any existing comments from that blog entry right there on page, with the ability to join right into the conversation and post a new comment as well. As we add more posts to our blog features pages from our site, you’ll be seeing this blog icon more and more.

If you want to see an example, check out our page on the D.T. Fleming Beach Park.

It’s just another way we want to encourage our visitors to talk story here at Ka’anapali Dreamin’.

Talk Story With Us

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

I’ll admit it. I like being on the web, surfing the blogosphere, and finding other people out there that are sharing their stories and memories about visits to Maui. These are folks like my wife and I, who might have spent some small part of their life on the Valley Isle, and many more days wishing they were back there right now. And through the power of the web, I can find these folks and join conversations that they’re having about the same places we all love to visit. If it weren’t for the Internet and bloggers out there, the only chance I might have to meet them would be standing in line at an ABC Store on Front Street.

After all, everyone who has been to Maui definitely has something to say about it. That’s why we created the new Talk Story section of our site to hear from you. It is a chance for us and everyone that visits this site to learn a little something about your favorite time on Maui, or why you go back every year like we do, or how you wish you could return someday. Maybe you live there now and want to share your story with others looking to make the move from the mainland. All is welcome.

How much you want to share is up to you. Feel free to leave a link to your site or your blog. Tell us about how you’re planning your next trip or about your friends that are there now. Or just write your name in the virtual sand here and give your thoughts on our site. All you have to do is leave a comment here, and it will also be featured on our Talk Story page. And since it’s powered by Blogger, you have all the usually options for subscribing to updates via email or adding this post to your favorite RSS reader.

Be sure to check back often and spread the word about our site if you have anyone in mind that might enjoy it. We look forward to hearing your stories and experiences.

Mahalo nui loa.
