Sunday Photo: West Maui Mountains

West Maui Mountains

Taken By Kris Nelson on February 26th, 2009
Location: Off the West Maui Coast

Our Sunday Photo this week was taken from our dinner cruise with the Pacific Whale Foundation last month. We try to schedule a dinner cruise on each of our trips because they have so much to offer (if you find the right one). Not only do you get dinner and drinks, you get to spend the evening out on the water, an even closer view of the sunset, and you get to meet and talk story with other visitors to the island.

We had lovely weather for this dinner cruise, as evident by the photo. While this picture is nice enough to make our weekly series here, it’s no substitute for seeing this same view for yourself. The air was so calm and clear that evening, you could see almost every little detail of the mountains from out on the water. Everything from the cars driving along the highway to houses up in the hills and all the trees, hills, ridges, and shadows along the mountains. Truly one of those quiet, but awe-inspiring views.

You can read more about our dinner cruise this trip in this entry of our trip journal.

Mahalo.
