All the hype I’ve been experiencing about our first visit to the Haleakala summit (in just 11 days now) has also made for some interesting timing, too.
One of the tweeps I follow on Twitter also just made his first journey up the volcano with his ohana in tow, and put together a short time lapse from his digital camera. I thought I’d pass it along, too, for those that might not have already seen it.
The man behind the clip, the post, and the Kam Family Blog is Nathan Kam, and you can find him on Twitter as @nathankam. Like many of the great folks living on Hawaii, Nathan does an awesome job sharing the Aloha Spirit live from the islands on a daily basis, and it was one of his tweets that helped inspire the Aloha09 project.
Be sure to check out the video, and while you’re at Nathan’s blog, be sure to find out why you should never ask a cow for directions.
Mahalo to Nathan for taking the time lapse and sharing it online, as well as the other encouraging tweets and pics from his recent visit to Maui.
My Own Sunrise Time Lapse?
For those that might have been following us on our trip last April, you might remember I put together my own Maui sunset time lapse from our lanai at the Sheraton. Mine consisted of tethering my Canon DSLR to my laptop, and using software to remote trigger the photos at set intervals. I had given thought to repeating that process atop Haleakala for a sunrise sequence, but for this first trip, I’m just going to enjoy the moment.
