‘Alau Islet

Location: Koki Beach, East Maui
Another photo this week that was featured in our Maui Photo Day Calendar recently. This shot was taken from Koki Beach along the East Maui coast on our Road to Hana tour last year. Perhaps the most intriguing thing about this small islet is the handful of coconut palms resting atop, seemingly all by there lonesome.
There are various stories about how those palm trees made it to the top of that rocky cliff, but we’re content for now just to enjoy the view. We’ll be revisiting this spot, as well as a few others near Hana on our trip next month.
