Hawaii Magazine - 25 Hawaiian Words

We saw this article and subsequent page in the latest issue of Hawaii Magazine, thought it was pretty neat, and felt it was worth sharing.

The article, How Hawaiian Should Sound, is a list of 25 common Hawaiian words (other than the basics like aloha and mahalo) that everyone in Hawaii, native or not, pretty much knows. There are also sound clips of each of the words so you can actually hear them in addition to learning their definition.

When we read it in the magazine, we were pretty happy that we knew or had at least seen more than half of the words, but hearing on the website was a big help, too.
