It's been a productive summer, but it hasn't necessarily been reflected here as of late.
Well, I'm happy to announce that the changes I started back in May have resulted in a new look for the Our Trips section. The place where you can find details, itineraries, and journal entries of our many trips to Maui just got a pretty nice facelift. In addition, you can find some of our travel traditions, past trip planning as well as our future plans to visit the island in this section as well.

Also At the Blog
Last weekend was pretty busy, so I missed my regular Friday and Sunday posts. However, I'm still hoping to push forward with more regular posts again. In fact, I was pretty excited to discover that last Monday's post was the 300th post here on the blog? When I started this site and blog almost 2 years ago, I never set milestones in terms of how many posts I'd have by now, but 300 seems like a very good number!
New Site
If you've been reading the blog and following me on Twitter (@webnelly) then you've already heard about my newest website, Maui by Photo. It's just another channel for me to share some of my favorite photos from around the island of Maui, as well as engage other Maui fans (like yourself) and hear their stories about places on Maui. If you haven't yet, check it out and leave your favorite Maui memories for all to read.
More Updates Coming
I have big plans for my new Maui site, but that doesn't mean Ka'anapali Dreamin' gets any less attention. I'm still pushing forward with some of the site design changes and also filling out existing sections with new places and spots that we visited on our most recent trip earlier this year. The first up is going to be the Beaches page, with all the new stretches of sand we visited this time. There are also a few tours and sights that we finally got around to this year, and I'm even planning to post a new Music section with all the great Hawaiian artists I've been listening to as of late. Stay tuned (ha ha) for that.
September Trip?
The plan is still to make it out to Maui in September for the Maui Photo Festival and Workshops, but our trip budget is cutting it pretty close and we're getting down to the wire in terms of timing. I had originally wanted to have everything booked by the end of July, for example, but now it looks like we won't be 100% sure if we're going until the end of August. Keeping our fingers crossed, working our butts off, and trying to save every last dollar we can to make it out there.
Hopefully we'll see all of our Maui friends soon.
Regularly Scheduled Programming
Now that the trip journal entries are finished, I'm hoping to get back to the regular postings at our blog that had become very frequent prior to our trip. I still have more than a few Weekly Websites and Travel Traditions to feature each week, as well as the Aloha Friday and Sunday Photos, too. Factor in the occasional news article and event announcement, and there will be a little bit of Aloha in your browser fresh every day.
Recent Updates
Although there haven't been many changes to the site itself to speak of lately, our blog has been seeing daily updates for almost two months now. Here are just a few things that are now being featured there.
The Aloha09 Project
At the beginning of the year, we announced that we were joining the Aloha09 project. You can check out our Aloha sharing posts on this category page from our blog, but keep your eyes peeled next month for a dedicated page here at our site for all of my contributions via Flickr, Twitter, and more.
Travel Traditions
Another fun series we're featuring at the blog is our Travel Traditions series. So far, we're showcasing almost a dozen different activities, habits, and must do's that we plan for every trip, each with it's own special sense of Aloha. Stop by and talk story about your own favorites, too.
Weekly Websites
For the past few weeks now, we've been featuring different Hawaii websites and blogs that we enjoy reading on a regular basis. Check them out at the Weekly Website category page to learn more, and also for details on how you can recommend your favorite sites to us.
Aloha Friday Photos
Helping to spread a little Aloha to get your weekend started, we now feature a new Aloha Friday photo on our blog each week. Each Friday, see a large version of that day's photo from our Maui Photo Day Calendar. Visit our mini-site for the calendar to learn more.

Those that have visited Maui will tell you that it has changed their life forever. Those that call Maui home are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. And for anyone thinking about taking their first Maui vacation ... what are you waiting for?
Ka'anapali Dreamin' is a site devoted to sharing the beauty and magic of Maui. With a combination of daily content, helpful reviews and a large collection of photographs, we hope you find this website as welcoming as a fresh, fragrant flower lei after stepping off the airplane.
"Maui No Ka 'Oi", as people in Maui say, and it means "Maui is the Best." In fact, if each of the Hawaiian Islands had their own official motto, that would be the one Maui would use. There is so much beauty, history, and culture that's part of Maui that it has much to offer and many reasons to return time and time again.
So we welcome you to take a look around our site and hopefully you like what you see. If you're looking for something regarding Maui, we hope we have what you need. If you're a regular Maui visitor or a true fan like ourselves, we hope that this site brings back all your own good memories of being on the white sandy beaches of Hawaii. And if you don't find what you are looking for, tell us.

As mentioned at the blog, my new online photo store Maui Wall Candy is now live. There are still a ton of photos to add, but it's a labour of love.
I've been posting photos all over this site that will soon be available at MWC. Over the coming weeks, you'll start to see links to where you can buy photos featured here on the site and the blogs, and other special deals as I get around to creating them. Be sure to keep an eye out for them and subscribe to my blog feed to get all the updates.
